NSFAS Online Application 2025-2026

The Online Application for NSFAS 2025-2026 starts in November 2024 and ends in January 2025. All prospective students are advised to apply now to avoid disappointment due to failure to submit the online application on time. It will be a difficult task for the NSFAS to consider late applications for 2025. Everything you have to know about this application period has been provided below.

When Can I Submit NSFAS Online Application 2025

NSFAS 2025 ONLINE Application period includes;

NSFAS Start Date: 21 November 2024
NSFAS End Date: 31 January 2025

Take Note: Applications for NSFAS funding for the academic year 2025 must be submitted before the due date

Qualification To Apply for NSFAS 2025

For the 2025 academic year, you can only apply only if you have:

• Valid Email And Password
• 
SASSA grant recipients
• 
South African citizens or permanent residents
• 
Applicants whose combined gross household income is not more than R350 000 per annum.
• Persons with disabilities whose combined gross household income is not more than R600 000 per annum.

Extra Document To Present 2025

Other documents that may be required, if applicable:

• Retrenchment letter
• Death certificate/s
• Divorce Decree
• Proof of legal guardianship
• Marriage certificate
• Other documents may be required for appeal purposes,….eg retrenchment letter

Steps To Online Application For NSFAS 2025

To submit the NSFAS Application online, use this link www.nsfas.org.za portal and follow the steps outlined below:

• Create a profile:

Create a myNSFAS account via this link: https://my.nsfas.org.za/ or download the NSFAS App on Google Play or App Store. Your ID number will be your username.

•  Apply now:

Click on the “Apply’ tab to update your personal information and upload your application supporting documents, as indicated.

•  Complete:

Submit your application

What The NSFAS Bursary Cover 2025

Expect to receive the following if you are on the NSFAS Scheme.

UNIVERSITY

• Accommodation
• As per the actual costs charged by the university (costs for private accommodation must not exceed costs for university residence)
• Transport (up to 40 km from the institution) R7 500 per annum
• Living allowance R15, 000 per annum
• Book allowances R5200 per annum
• Incidental/personal care allowance of R2900 per annum for students in catered residences

TVET

• Accommodation in an urban area is R24,000 per year
• Accommodation in a peri-urban area is R18,900 per year
• Accommodation in a rural area is R15,750 per year
• Transport (up to 40 km from the institution) R7,350 per year
• Transport R7000 per year
• Incidental/personal care allowance R2900 per year
