Assessment Test For Sasaa Pension Payout 2024-2025

An assessment test is a way of determining whether an applicant’s income and assets qualify them for a grant. Therefore, SASSA offers social grants depending on the income of the recipient.

  • Minimum income: Single candidates cannot have assets worth more than R1 372 800, and married applicants cannot have assets worth more than R2 745 600.
  • Asset minimum: Single candidates must make no more than R96 840 per year, while married applicants must earn no more than R193 680 per year. Applicants who are married will be considered for half of their yearly combined and assets income.

Sassa Pension Payout is deposited into the recipient’s bank account every month. To be eligible for the award, you must have an active bank account with a South African licenced financial institution. other payment methods include;

  •  Collected in cash from approved pay points
  • From specific institutions

NOTE: If you want your grant paid into your bank account, you must fill out the Consent Form for SASSA Grant Bank Payment and provide the necessary supporting documents such as; proof of identification (ID document/birth certificate/driver’s licence) and evidence of bank account in your name (received from the bank) or 3 months bank statement displaying your data (name and bank account number).

Causes Of SASSA Old Pension Suspension  Grant

Your grant may be suspended for the following reasons:

  • Changes in your financial situation;
  • The outcome of a review process;
  • Non-cooperation during a grant review;
  • Providing false information (fraud or misrepresentation);
  • If the grant was mistakenly approved;
  • Failure to collect the grant for three consecutive months;
  • Being absent from the Republic for more than 90 days.

How To Restore SASSA Old Pension Grant 2025

You must apply for the restoration of a suspended grant within 90 days of the suspension.
