How Much Is SRD Grant Now?

How Much Is SRD Grant Now?
The R350 Grant is set at a monthly amount of R350. This grant was distributed every month to eligible recipients who met the necessary criteria outlined by the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA).
- An increase of R100 to the old age, war veterans, disability, and care dependency grants. This amount will be divided into R90 effective from April, and R10 effective October;
- A R50 increase to the foster care grant; and
- A R20 increase to the child support grant

Sassa Official Statements
The National Treasury stated in the enlarged Budget 2024 review that social award spending, excluding the SRD grant, will rise from R217.1 billion in 2023–2024 to R259.3 billion in 2026–2027. R33.6 billion is allotted for the COVID-19 Social Relief of Distress Grant in 2024–2025; tentative allocations are also made for 2025–2026 and 2026–2027.
By April of this year, improvements to the COVID-19 Social Relief of Distress Grant will have been made. To guarantee that modifications made to this grant are reflected in the final rules, the National Treasury will collaborate with the Department of Social Development.
