SRD grant applicants can check the status of their application or payment by visiting the SASSA website or calling the SASSA Call Centre at 0800 60 10 11.  Applicants will need to give their ID number and the reference number supplied when the application was filed to check the status of an SRD grant or payment on the SASSA website. If the application is granted, the website will explain when and how the payment will be made.

  • Visit the SASSA website and select the “Grant Enquiries” tab at the top of the page.
  • Navigate to the Grant Enquiries page and click the “SRD Status Check” option.
  • Enter your ID number as well as the reference number from your SRD grant application.
  • To check the progress of your SRD grant application or payment, click the “Submit” button.
  • If your SRD grant application is approved, the website will tell you the payment date and method.
