How Much Will Sassa Pay This Month?
How Much Money Do You Get from SASSA Every Month?
Millions of South Africans depend on SASSA grants to support their households, especially during times of rising costs. Whether you receive the Older Person’s Grant, Child Support Grant, Disability Grant, or the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant, knowing the exact monthly payout helps you plan your budget more effectively. As of July 2025, the payment amounts reflect increases announced earlier in the year as part of government efforts to ease financial pressure on vulnerable groups.
The Older Person’s Grant now pays R2,315 per month to individuals aged 60 to 74, while those aged 75 and above receive R2,335. The Disability Grant, War Veterans Grant, and Care Dependency Grant each pay R2,315 per month. The Foster Child Grant stands at R1,250 per child, and both the Child Support Grant and the Grant-in-Aid offer R560 per month. The SRD grant, which was increased in April 2024, continues at R370 per month and remains available through March 2026.
These updated amounts are paid monthly by the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA), following a staggered schedule based on grant type. Payments typically begin in the first week of the month, with each group assigned a specific day. Beneficiaries do not need to reapply to receive the updated amounts; payments are automatically adjusted.
SASSA Payment Dates for 2026–2027
SASSA schedules its grant payments every month at the beginning of each month. Most beneficiaries receive their payments within the first three to four days. The South African Social Security Agency remains committed to disbursing funds on time to support individuals who rely on these grants for essential living expenses.
If you are a registered SASSA beneficiary and have already checked your grant status, it is important to stay updated on the official payment dates. These dates help you know exactly when to expect your money, whether it is being deposited directly into your bank account or made available at a designated pay point.
Each month, SASSA publishes a detailed payment schedule that outlines when each type of grant will be paid. This schedule ensures that recipients of the Older Person’s Grant, Disability Grant, Child Support Grant, and other forms of assistance can plan accordingly. Funds are transferred either through direct deposit or made accessible for collection at approved outlets across the country.
Staying informed about the payment calendar helps avoid confusion or unnecessary trips to payment points. If you are relying on SASSA support in 2026 or 2027, be sure to monitor the latest monthly schedule so you can access your funds without delay.
