Requirements Needed To Apply For Sassa R350 Grants 2024-2025

In order to apply for the SASSA SRD Grant, it is important that you meet the criteria to apply (note that these criteria may change). The criteria are as follows:

  • You must reside in South Africa
  • You must meet any 1 of these criteria:
    • You must be a South African Citizen
    • You must be a Refugee in South Africa
    • You must be an Asylum Seeker in South Africa with a valid Section 22 permit or visa
    • You must be a Special Permit Holder in South Africa (under the Special Angolan Dispensation, the Lesotho Exemption Permit Dispensation or the Zimbabwe Exemption Permit Dispensation)
  • You must be between 18 and 60 years old
  • You must meet the means test, with an income of R624 or less per month
  • You must be unemployed and NOT be receiving financial support from any other source
  • You must have insufficient financial means to support yourself
  • You must NOT be receiving any other social grants for yourself
  • You must NOT be contributing towards or eligible for UIF payment
  • You must NOT unreasonably refuse to accept employment or educational opportunities
  • You must NOT be receiving a stipend from NSFAS (National Student Financial Aid Scheme)

How To Apply For R350 Grant 2024 August

SASSA developed multiple ways for applicants to submit their application for the SASSA R350 grant. These methods of application include applying online via the SRD official website, through Whatsapp, In-person at the SASSA centre or office, via Chatbox and using USSD. To apply for the below steps:

Online Application ;

  • Visit the SASSA services official website on any device with internet connectivity
  • Register as a new user on the SASSA services website, by clicking the yellow “Register”
  • Provide the required personal information
  • Log in to the SASSA services website using your newly created username and password.
  • Click on “Apply for a Grant” and then select the type of grant you wish to apply for.
  • Fill in the grant application form by providing all the required information.
  • Print the affidavit prepared by SASSA and get it certified by an oath commissioner. Print, sign, and mail your affidavit together with the Bank Payment Form.
  • Upload the following certified supporting documents in PDF format.

Apply In-Person/ Office Application;

  • Visit a SASSA office close to you
  • Completed the SASSA application form in the presence of a SASSA officer
  • After completing the application form completely, you will be given a dated stamped receipt that includes the name of the SASSA official who aided you with your application.

  • Send a message via WhatsApp to 082 046 8553
  • Provide your personal details
  • You will receive a Reference number, an OTP and a link to click
  • Click on the provided link, fill in your OTP and verify your account
  • Fill in your surname and ID number
  • Confirm the personal details that you provided via the WhatsApp chat

NOTE: If your application is approved, you will be notified by your preferred contact method (e.g., email, SMS, or snail mail). The communication will include information regarding the grant’s approval and the next steps in receiving it.
