Is NSFAS Open For 2025 Application
The NSFAS Application for the next academic year 2025 is set to open on November 21, 2024, and will end on January 31, 2025. You have two months to apply for financial aid using the myNSFAS. Adhering to this deadline is very important so they can consider your application for the money to assist with your studies. You can also do the application online on myNSFAS .org.za website.
All you need is to create an account, fill in your personal details, upload the documents requested, and then submit it. Meeting all the rules and getting all the documents in before the due date improves your chances of getting financial help for your studies.

Application Process For NSFAS 2025
Create an account:
- Go to the NSFAS website and click on the ‘myNSFAS’ tab to make an account
- You must have a working cellphone, a valid cellphone number, and an email address to sign up
- Make sure all the information provided during the registration is correct because it’s checked right away
Completing the Application
- After signing up, click on the ‘Apply’ tab and fill in all the sections of the application form
- Provide documents like a copy of your ID, proof of your income, and any other required documents needed
- Provide detailed information about your parents, guardian, or spouse and proof of income. And if you support yourself you need to prove your income
- If you are facing health challenges(disability) or you are an orphan, you might need to give extra documents as well
Checking Application Status
- Log in to your myNSFAS account to see how your application is doing
- You can also verify on your application using WhatsApp or USSD code, which you can find on the NSFAS website
Eligible Criteria To Apply For NSFAS Application 2025
To apply for the bursary program you need to meet the requirements/standards:
- SASSA grant recipient
- You must have an email/ cell phone number
- A South African citizen with a valid ID number
- You should be a first-time student entering a university or TVET college
- Household income should not be more than R350 000 per year
- Meet the academic requirements for university or TVET college admission
- Health challenges(disability) household income should not be more than R600 000 per year
