Requirement Needed For The 2025 NSFAS
These are the requirements candidates must meet when applying for the National Students Financial Aid Scheme.
- Be a permanent resident or citizen of South Africa
- SASSA grants recipients
- Candidates whose combined gross household income is less than R350,000 per year
- Persons with disability challenges whose combined gross household income is less than R600,000 per year
- Candidates must have a valid phone number and e-mail
Important Dates For NSFAS 2025

Students with a disability must provide:
- A finished and signed Disability Annexure A Form
Students recognized as vulnerable children must provide the following:
- Candidates who are being recognized as vulnerable children by the Department of Social Development must provide a declaration form to be completed by the social worker
Other Documents To Be Required If Applicable
- Retrenchments Letter
- Death Certificate/s
- Divorce Decree
- Proof of legal guardianship
- Marriage Certificate
- other papers may be required for appeal purposes…..eg retrenchment
