SASSA Grant Application Online is the way by which potential beneficiaries of the grants of the African Social Security (SASSA) can apply on the Internet. Since the inception of the SASSA, many people have benefited from its services. These benefits have come in the form of the grants that it provides. Its activities are supported by the government per Act, 2004 (Act No. 13 of 2004). There are times when people have had to queue to apply for grants at the various offices.

This sometimes delays the application process. To smoothen the process and to make it easy for everyone to be able to apply from the comfort of their locations, the agency has put in place an online application process. Know more about the process below.

SASSA Grant Online Application Eligibility In 2025

You must meet the following requirements before you apply for a sassa grant;

be a citizen of South Africa and also a permanent resident
You must be at least 18 years of age
Your minimum wage must be less or you are not on any other financial support scheme
You should not have applied for or received the SASSA R350 grant before

Once you meet all of the requirements listed, you can continue with your application process.

SASSA Grant Online Application Steps 2025

Follow the instructions below to apply for the SRD SASSA Grant online:

Visit SASSA’s official website www.sassa.gov.za
Locate “Social grant” on the homepage and click on it.
Register if you a a new applicant
provide your name, your ID number, your telephone number and your residential address
After registration, an SMS will be sent to your number with your username and password.
Now, with the username and password given to you, you can log into your account
fill in the application form and provide the necessary details
Upon completing the form online, click on the “submit” button
Waiting patiently for a confirmation message

You can always check the status of your application by logging in to your account and clicking on the “check status” button.

SRD Grant Payment Method 2025-2026

You can make payment at any bank ATM, using your SASSA gold card
You can also make payment at a collection point like Pick n Pay, Checkers, Shoprite, Boxer and USave stores

If you want to avoid the long queues on payment dates, you should wait a few days to collect your grant money – this will save you hours waiting in line to receive your funds.
