SASSA grant for October provides critical financial help to qualified South African individuals and families. The SASSA strives to enhance the lives of individuals in need by providing grants such as the Old Age Grant, Disability Grant, Child Support Grant, and others.

Sassa provides grants for eligible beneficiaries every October, to aid them financially.  The grant recipients must fulfil particular qualifying requirements based on the type of award they are seeking in order to qualify for the SASSA grant in October.

  • Older Persons or Pensioners Grants: Tuesday, 3 October 2023
  • Disability Grants: Wednesday, 4 October 2023
  • Children’s and all other Grants: Thursday, 5 October 2023

NOTE: Due to weekends, public holidays, and administrative processes, SASSA payment dates in December may vary. SASSA, on the other hand, strives to make payments consistently and on time so that beneficiaries have access to their funds when they are most needed.

How To Collect SASSA Grant Payment?

If you are a SASSA grant recipient, I’m sure you have chosen a payment method via which you will receive your grant payment. If this is the case, you will receive your February SASSA Grant payment via your preferred payment method.

SASSA payment options include bank transfers, ATM withdrawals, and purchases from retailers such as Shoprite, U-Save, Boxer, Pick & Pay, and Checkers.

  • You can make payment at any bank ATM, using your SASSA gold card
  • You can also make payment at a collection point like Pick n Pay, Checkers, Shoprite, Boxer and USave stores

If you want to avoid the long queues on payment dates, you should wait a few days to collect your grant money – this will save you hours of time waiting in line to receive your funds.

Sassa Gold Card

  • Like any other regular bank card, the SASSA Gold Card works exactly the same. You will be able to draw money at any ATM and use your card at a till point.
  • Grant holders should create a PIN for their gold card so that their funds can’t be withdrawn if the card is lost or stolen.
  • After SASSA social grants are paid each month, they remain on your SASSA gold card until you are ready to use the funds
  • The South African Reserve Bank (SARB) approves the SASSA gold card for use.
