Sassa Grant Payment 2026-2027

SASSA Payments 2026–2027: Full Guide for All Grants:

If you are one of the millions of South Africans who depend on monthly social assistance, staying informed about the SASSA grant payment schedule for 2026–2027 is essential. The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) continues to play a vital role in providing financial support to the country’s most vulnerable citizens, including the elderly, persons with disabilities, caregivers, and children. For the 2026–2027 financial year, social grants are expected to increase, following the government’s commitment to easing the burden of rising living costs.

According to the 2025 Budget Speech by Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana, all permanent SASSA grants, excluding the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant, will see payment increases starting in April 2025. These include boosts to the Old Age Grant, Disability Grant, Child Support Grant, and more. With over 19 million beneficiaries projected in 2025/26 and beyond, SASSA is strengthening its role in fighting poverty and reducing inequality.

The government has allocated R284.7 billion to social grants for 2025/26, with the Department of Social Development receiving over R422.3 billion to manage grants and social programs. This will grow to R452.7 billion by 2027/28. In addition, R35.2 billion has been set aside to continue the SRD R370 grant, which remains vital for unemployed individuals.

For recipients, it is important to check your SASSA payment dates, ensure your banking and contact details are accurate, and stay updated on policy changes. With new reforms, improved biometric verification, and rising grant values, the SASSA grant payments for 2026–2027 are designed to offer greater support and security.
