Sassa Relief Grant Dates 2025-2026

Sassa payments are made in the first week of every month, provided there’s no interference( weekends or Holidays). However, If the exact date of payment falls on a weekend or a public holiday, the payment will be made on the next working day. The following are the payment dates for Sassa grants;

Sassa Relief Grant Payment Method

Sassa provides the recipient with various payment methods which include;

Payment at any bank ATM, using your SASSA gold card
Payment at a collection point like Pick n Pay, Checkers, Shoprite, Boxer and USave stores

The recipient must have an active bank account, valid ID documents, and a registered cell phone number in the recognised name of the recipient. If you want to avoid the long queues on payment dates, you should wait a few days to collect your grant money this will save you hours waiting in line to receive your funds.

SASSA Gold Card For Payment

Like any other regular bank card, the SASSA Gold Card works the same. You will be able to draw money at any ATM and use your card at a till point.
Grant holders should create a PIN for their gold card so that their funds can’t be withdrawn if the card is lost or stolen.
After SASSA social grants are paid each month, they remain on your SASSA gold card until you are ready to use the funds
The South African Reserve Bank (SARB) approves the SASSA gold card for use.
