If you choose to pay to a bank account, please ensure that you are the owner of the account. SASSA cannot deposit your benefits into someone else’s bank account. If you choose the option of transferring money through one of the major banks, please make sure that the mobile number from which you receive the SMS is registered in your name.
SASSA cannot disburse your benefit from a registered mobile number to another person.
Please also note that the new bank details will only be used for future payments, after verification.
