How to Apply for the Social Relief Grant 2025

There are two ways to apply for the SRD grant:

Open the official SASSA website
Now, Click on the “Apply Here” button to begin your application
Put in your personal information. This includes your name, your ID number, and your contact information
There will be questions about your employment status and income. Make sure you answer them correctly with the most recent information.
Give your correct banking details.
And if you don’t have an account with any bank, select a cash payment option
Once you are done, submit your application.
Wait patiently for your reference number. With this number, you can track the status of your application

To apply via WhatsApp, follow these instructions:

First, save the SASSA WhatsApp number (082 046 8553) to your contacts

Then, send a message to the number that says “Hi” or “Hello”
Once you do, you will receive a prompt for your application
Follow this prompt to complete your application
Now, give your banking details where you can receive your assistance.
If you don’t have a bank account, select “cash payment option”

After you submit your application, you will receive a reference number via WhatsApp that you can use to check the status of your application.
