Opening Date and Deadline For NSFAS Application 2025
The NSFAS application for the academic year 2025 takes place on November 21, 2024, and ends on January 31, 2025. If you wish to apply this is the time to do so by visiting the webpage www.nsfas.org.za and sending your application form for funding.
Note: The NSFAS will not consider a late application for the 2025-2026 academic year.

Eligibility Criteria For The NSFAS Application
Citizens of South Africans who intend to enroll in school or are currently in school in a public university or TVET college, and if you match the following eligibility criteria then you are eligible for the bursary.
- SASSA recipients automatically qualify for financial eligibility
- A combined household income is not more than R350 000 per year
- Individuals with disability with a combined household income of not more than R600 000 per year
- Must have an email and cell phone number
How To Complete the NSFAS Application Form
- Create a profile:
Create a myNSFAS account via this link: https://my.nsfas.org.za/ or download the aNSFAS App on Google Play or App Store. Your ID number will be your username.
- Apply now:
Click on the ”APPLY” tab to update your personal information and upload your application supporting documents, as specified
- Complete
Submit your application
Required Documents To Provide When Applying For NSFAS
All NSFAS applicants are required to remit supporting documents or papers. The following documents should contain:
- Students with disabilities must provide:
A completed and signed Disability Annexure A Form
- Students recognized as vulnerable children must provide:
A candidate who is recognized as a vulnerable child by the Department of Social Development must provide and Vulnerable Child Declaration form completed by a social worker
Other Required Documents, if necessary:
- Retrenchment letter
- Death certificate/s
- Divorce Decree
- Proof of legal guardianship
- Marriage certificate
- Other documents may be required for appeal purposes,…..eg retrenchment letter
