The online application window for the NSFAS for the academic year 2026-2027 will be open from the 21st of November 205 and close on the 31st of January 2026. Interested and qualified applicants who are now enrolled in either a public university or a TVET college can apply online through the myNsfas portal. Applicants are to bear in mind that applications are strictly online and forms must be submitted before the application deadline.
To qualify for NSFAS funds, you must be a South African citizen who is currently enrolled in any of the public universities or TVET colleges and comes from a family with an annual income of less than R350,000. NSFAS is a government entity under the Department of Higher Education and Training established to provide financial support to disadvantaged students who wish to further their studies at public universities or TVET colleges.
The amount of fund given by Nsfas are indicated for accommodation, living allowance, transport, and learning materials needs to be aligned with the latest approved DHET guidelines. 3. Applicants whose combined gross household income is not more than R350,000 per year
4. Persons with disabilities whose combined gross household income is not more than R600,000 per year.
5. Must have an email account and cell phone number.
