Before applying for the R350 award, you must first assess if you match SASSA’s eligibility requirements. The requirements include;
- Be a South African Citizen
- Be A Refugee in South Africa
- Be an Asylum Seeker in South Africa with a valid Section 22 permit or visa
- Be a Special Permit Holder in South Africa (under the Special Angolan Dispensation, the Lesotho Exemption Permit Dispensation, or the Zimbabwe Exemption Permit Dispensation)
- Be between 18 and 60 years old
- Meet the means test, with an income of R624 or less per month
- Be unemployed and NOT be receiving financial support from any other source
- Have insufficient financial means to support yourself
- NOT be receiving any other social grants for yourself
- NOT be contributing towards or eligible for UIF payment
- NOT be unreasonably refuse to accept employment or educational opportunities
- NOT be receiving a stipend from NSFAS (National Student Financial Aid Scheme)

Sassa R350 Grant Enrollment Process for 2025
Sassa has provided its applicants with various methods of application. the application methods include submitting your application via WhatsApp, the SRD Website, or the SASSA Chatbot. Applicants must choose and use only one application method. However, submitting more than one application will not speed up the process, but rather it may slow down your application. To Apply Online ;
- Visit the SASSA services official website on any device with internet connectivity
- Register as a new user on the SASSA services website, by clicking the yellow “Register”
- Provide the required personal information
- Log in to the SASSA services website using your newly created username and password.
- Click on “Apply for a Grant” and then select the type of grant you wish to apply for.
- Fill in the grant application form by providing all the required information.
- Print the affidavit prepared by SASSA and get it certified by an oath commissioner. Print, sign, and mail your affidavit together with the Bank Payment Form.
