SASSA Check Status 2024-2025: What Does My Sassa Status Mean?

SASSA (South African Social Security Agency) is an organization in charge of providing social assistance to qualified South African citizens. Social grants are financial assistance given to vulnerable and needy South Africans who are unable to take care of themselves.
The South African Social Security Agency provides an online platform through which applicants can check the status of their social grant applications. The SASSA Check Status portal gives information on the application’s status, including whether it was granted or refused, the grant amount, and the payment date.

 

How Can I Check My Sassa Status?

The online approach is the simplest way to check your status. You only need your ID number and the mobile number you used while applying.

 

How To Check SASSA Status

  • Visit the SASSA website: Go to the website and, on the homepage, click the “Check your status” button.
  • Enter your information here: Enter your ID number as well as the captcha code seen on the page.
  • Send your question: To submit your enquiry, click the “Submit” button.
  • Check your status: You will be sent to a page that displays the status of your award. If your grant is granted, the payment date and amount will be displayed.

What Does My Sassa Status Mean?

You will receive one of the following statuses after verifying your status:

  • Application complete: when you see this it means SASSA has received your SRD grant application, so there is nothing more you need to do.
  • Bank details pending: when you see this, it means SASSA has received your application or reapplication, but you did NOT submit your banking details or the preferred payment method.
  • Reapplication pending: when you see this, it means SASSA has NOT received your reapplication.
  • Period Pending: when you see this, it means SASSA is currently in the process of verifying your application for that particular month.
  • Period Approved: when you see this, it means SASSA has approved your application for that particular month.
  • Period Declined: when you see this, it means SASSA has unfortunately declined your application for that particular month.
    Cancelled: when you see this, it means SASSA has cancelled your SRD grant.
