Sassa Old Age Pension recipients get a monthly payout from the South African government. The pension amount is subject to periodic modifications based on economic conditions and inflation rates in the country.

The pension is intended to provide a basic income to elderly citizens to cover their daily living expenses, such as food, housing, healthcare, and other necessities. The funds a disbursed periodically using scheduled dates of every month.

Sassa Old Age Pension Payout Dates 2025-2026

SASSA usually pays social grants on the first day of each month. However, if the first day falls on a weekend or a public holiday, the payment will be made on the last working day before the first of the month. Provided below are Sassa’s old pension dates and the various months of payment respectfully;

Sassa Payment Method

If you’re a beneficiary of any of the SASSA grants, then I’m sure you have selected a payment method with which you receive your grant’s payment.

If so, you’ll collect your SASSA Grant payment via your chosen payment method. The SASSA payment methods include bank payment, ATMs, and Retailers like Shoprite, U-Save, Boxer, Pick n Pay, and Checkers.

What Will Cause SASSA Old Pension Suspension

Your grant may be suspended for the following reasons:

• Changes in your financial situation;
• The outcome of a review process;
• Non-cooperation during a grant review;
• Providing false information (fraud or misrepresentation);
• If the grant was mistakenly approved;
• Failure to collect the grant for three consecutive months;
• Being absent from the Republic for more than 90 days.

How To Restore SASSA Old Pension Grant 2025

• You must apply for the restoration of a suspended grant within 90 days of the suspension.
