For applicants who have been rejected for the SRD R350, SASSA’s reconsideration system provides an automatic route to appeal for 2024. Rejected candidates in the previous SRD R350 grants application had to make appeal requests, but doing so required tediously going through hundreds of emails one by one. Hows To Send SASSA SRD Reconsideration Appeal 2024

Here are the steps to appeal or file a reconsideration request.

  • Visit https website: //srd.sassa.gov.za/sc19/reconsideration (taken before April 2022) but for those from April 2023, you must use this https link instead: //srd.dsd.gov.za/appeals/. This will take you directly to the reviews page.
  • Here you need to provide the ID number and the phone number used to send the request.
  • There is a button labelled “Send Pin”. Click it,
  • You will receive an SMS notification containing a PIN, enter the correct code received in the field provided for this purpose, and authenticate. Now select the month you want to request a reconsideration,
  • In the drop-down menu, you will see the current state clearly rejected. The reason for the decline, in our case, an alternative source of income has been identified, but other reasons can also be denied. The reason for your refusal will also be indicated in this section.
  • The final step is to select a reason for the reconsideration, which must match the reason for the rejection. For example, if a candidate is rejected for “UIF application”, they cannot select “no source of income”.

  • The reconsideration reason is already preloaded into the system so the applicant does not need to re-enter anything.
  • Then apply. Your status will now be pending as SASSA will need to review the application.
  • Unconfirmed sources say it can take up to two weeks to review a reconsideration request. You must be patient while SASSA reviews your assessment.

To check your SASSA R350 grant balance, you have several convenient options available:

  1. USSD Code: Dial 1347737# from your registered mobile number. Follow the prompts and select the option to check your grant balance. You will receive an SMS with your balance details.
  2. SASSA Online Portal: Visit the official SASSA website and navigate to the grant balance section. Enter your ID number, cellphone number, and any other required details. Submit the information, and your balance will be displayed on the screen.
  3.  SASSA Mobile App: If you have the SASSA mobile app installed on your smartphone, open the app and log in using your credentials. Locate the balance section and click on it to view your available funds.
